"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experience." Gordon B. Hinckley, 2006

Best baby video

Sometimes when I have work to do on my computer, I open up two windows, and let Mickey sit on my lap and watch an episode of Teletubbies or Mickey Mouse Clubhouse from You Tube.  It entertains him somewhat.

Today I had some pictures from my camera I wanted to upload to my computer, and as I was searching for a certain quote, I came across this video.  Mickey was spellbound on my lap.  Maybe it was the touching pictures of the Savior, maybe it was all of the sweet pictures of children.  Probably it was a combination of both, but he was so excited about this video that he was trying to jump off my lap to get close enough to point at Jesus on the screen.

Enjoy,

Trick or Treating

Mickey's feelings about trick or treating:

Likes:
being outside
being with his siblings
running around
going to people's houses
picking treats out of a bowl
picking up leaves
playing in the dirt
finding sticks along the way

Dislikes:
not getting to go inside every house that he visited
not getting to play in the dirt
not getting to keep all of the leaves and sticks
not getting to immediately eat the treat he received at each house
riding in the stroller when he decided he didn't want to walk,
and we decided we didn't want to carry him anymore

Of course, their favorite part of Halloween every year is always when we end up back at Grandma's house and they sit and sort and trade candy for the rest of the night.

And although we had a really wonderful Halloween, there was a part of my heart that ached all day for little Emily who was very very sick, and who spent the day at Primary Children's, and her mama who was really worried about her baby girl.  And even though I loved being out trick or treating with my sweet kiddos, I felt sad for my sister who was longing to be with her sweet kiddos that night too.  Life isn't very fair sometimes.  :(

Cute photo they put together at the hospital for Emily on Halloween.  Too sick to participate in the hospital activities, they laid her costume on her as she lay in bed and took a picture, and did reverse trick-or-treating and brought the bag of goodies to her.

New School Year!

First day of school we took our traditional pictures on the front porch.  I must say that I'm quite pleased with myself this year.  There were not any tears on my part this year, and only a very small amount of sadness.

Of course I'm sad to see them go back to school.  I really enjoy having them home.  But how can I be sad when they are so HAPPY?  They've been so excited about their teachers  and seeing their friends.

Joey woke up at 7:00 and got dressed and ran downstairs, excited as could be.
