"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experience." Gordon B. Hinckley, 2006

Tuesday Tell All--You Can Quote Me On That

"Every day in every way I'm getting better and better."

I heard this quote while I was in college, and it's stuck with me ever since. I've had it hanging up in all of the classrooms I've ever taught it, and I've discussed it often with my students. It's a daunting task to be perfect at everything. But just doing our best and trying to improve everyday is a totally reachable goal.
*
I'm the kind of person that can get discouraged easily if I let myself get overwhelmed. This quote reminds me to just take "baby steps" and do a little better each day than the day before.
*
I've often heard President Hinckley in his conference closing remarks urge us to try and do a little better, be a little kinder, a little more generous, a little more thoughtful of one another, a little more tolerant and friendly, and it always reminds me of this quote.

**What's your favorite quote?**
**Do you ever get overwhelmed with everything you want to do and become, or is it just me?**

I love quotes. When I was a kid I would read quote books and copy my favorites over and over. Is that weird? Yea, it's weird. Anyway, this is one of my current favorites:

Imagination is more important than knowledge. ~ Albert Einstein

And yes, I think being overwhelmed and stressed and thinking about all the things that you need to do, want to do, wish you could do, etc. etc. etc. go hand in hand (in hand).

Every time I access my life and what I am doing as opposed to what I spend my time doing. One day I'll become that person that Heavenly Father intended me to be, but I'll take it one day at a time...thank goodness for the daily helps he provides us with.

Oh, I love that one. I get so overwhelmed and start feeling guilty for not being able to do everything. I need to remember baby steps.

Your quotes in that post all have a theme--of course of positivity, but as you know of being your best, deciding to be your best, trying and getting better each day. I love that! It's why we are here. What a wonderful thing to remind ourselves of each day.

thank you so much for the inspiriation. I needed it today. Why is it when you try to do things other than the normal routine things always get off kilter? I get so stressed when I can't get everything done! So thank you for your post. It helped me a lot.

Great quote! I have to remind myself that life isn't me always swimming to catch up or keep my head above water but sitting on the beach in a really comfy lounger and taking in the sun! Did you get your pink Christmas info? Yea!
