Tonight our family home evening lesson was about "Knowledge" (from a little pre-made lesson I was emailed from LDS Living--it's nothing fancy, but if you want a copy leave your email address on this post and I'll forward it over to you).
*
It was about how we're supposed to continue learning throughout our lives--especially about the gospel. D & C 88:118: "And as all have not faith, seek ye diligently and teach one another words of wisdom; yea, seek ye out of the best books words of wisdom; seek learning, even by study and also by faith."
*
We talked about how knowledge is one of the things that we can take to heaven with us after death.
*
Great lesson about knowledge.
*
After we are all finished and getting ready for bed, Joey asks me, "Mom what is knowledge?"
*
In retrospect, I guess I should have begun the lesson with a definition of the word knowledge. I'm sure he didn't understand a single word of the lesson. Bless his heart.

This quote by Joseph Smith is the tagline for everyone of my emails that goes out. I believe in this philosophy with my whole heart. I remember reading that Brigham Young said once he was on the other side of the veil he was going to immerse himself in the libraries of heaven. I can't wait for that day myself. In the meantime, I write my books in the library my husband built for me.
hey thanks for the fun idea...FHE ideas! Sweet! I'm tired of taking the kids to the park and talking about Heavenly Father's creations.

So cute. It is funny how we forget something simple like that. I would love the lesson my email is :kidsfair@yahoo.com. It sounds like a great one.
What a great lesson for your kids. And so cute about your son. It's great that you have family home evening, he'll have lots of great memories from them.
I was going to do that one, but then I thought it would be just a little too over the head of my kiddos. Besides, Thomas was in charge of the lesson. We used the Book of Mormon reader instead. I do have that printed out for when they are a little older though.
You know your kids are very bright I'm sure they caught on to a lot more than you'll ever know. I doubt it went over their heads:) At least Joey had thought enough about it to ask you what Knowledge meant. I love that kid!
I want a copy!!
He's such a cutie pie!!
Well said.
