"You will have significant experiences. I hope that you will write them down and keep a record of them, that you will read them from time to time and refresh your memory of those meaningful and significant things. Some may be funny. Some may be significant only to you. Some of them may be sacred and quietly beautiful. Some may build one upon another until they represent a lifetime of special experience." Gordon B. Hinckley, 2006

Encircled in His love

I LOVE Bonnie D. Parkin. Isn't she amazing? When I first got called to the RS in my ward, we had a training meeting at the Assembly Hall at Temple Square, and heard from her and her presidency. It was such an overwhelming, amazing meeting. I felt so blessed and thankful that I'd been able to attend. The amazing strong spirit that I felt there carried me through a few very difficult weeks afterwards.

She talked a lot about our own personal ministry, and finding out what it is that the Lord specifically has in mind for each of us as individuals. It's one of those talks that I think about often. It made such an impression on me, and I reflect often about my own personal ministry, and what the Lord expects of me as a disciple of Christ.

"We, the Lord's daughters, need to know that He loves us. We need to know that He sees the good in us. Feeling His love encourages us to press forward, reassures us that we are His, and confirms to us that He cherishes us even when we stumble and experience temporary setbacks. . . "Our Heavenly Father loved us before we came to this earth. I know that He loves us, sisters, as does His Son, Jesus Christ. That love will never change--it is constant. You can rely on it. We can trust it." Just as the motto of Relief Society reminds us that 'charity never faileth,' we must believe that the love of Christ will never fail us. All that we do in Relief Society should reflect the love of our Savior and the love of our Heavenly Father. This great love should be the source of our motivation to serve others. It must be both our point of origin and our destination!"
--Bonnie D. Parkin

I LOVE that quote. I'm going to put a copy of it in my scriptures, because I think I need to hear that often.

Here's another sweet treat for this Friday. I found this on my beautiful friend Kara's blog a couple of weeks ago. I've visited her blog a couple of times since to watch it again, so I decided to just post it here so I can find it easily. This is an amazing little boy who called in to a religious radio show. It's a recording of the conversation.

I just have to say that I am strengthened SO MUCH by the faith and examples of other people.
Have a great Friday y'all!

That is a great quote and I am going to print that off, a long time ago Elder Wirthlin said 'God's love is complete and without limit for you and for all mankind, he is perfectly just and merciful, he is perfectly kind, because our Heavenly Father is perfect you can have complete faith in him, you can trust Him' I have believed that ever since I heard it.

I love that clip too, way to bring tears to the eyes!

Thank you for a such a wonderful post. I needed that quote. I really did. After running my self silly for the last few weeks. All for the better of my children. Though I find my self wondering what am I doing? What is my purpose? I really enjoyed the words of that young boy.
